How do I apply for the awards?
The scheme is open to any licensed premise in the City of York and Selby District Licensing Authority areas. Simply contact the Best Bar None team for an application pack on 0780 2385220 or by email.
The application pack entails a self assessment of your venue to be completed by the applicant. Once the completed pack has been received by the Best Bar None committee, together with the nominal entry fee, they will contact the applicant to arrange a convenient time for the assessors to visit your premise.
What do they ask in the application form?
You will be asked to answer questions based on the Licensing Objectives set out by the Licensing Act 2003: Prevention of Crime and Disorder, Public Safety, Prevention of Public Nuisance and Protection of Children from Harm.
Premises will be asked about the policies they have in place to promote the Licensing Objectives. Assessors will then look for evidence of the policies at work in the premise.
